Kashmir
Shawls from Kashmir are popular the world over. What sets them apart is not just the wool but also the craftsmanship, the weave, the embroidery and the patterns that are unique to the region. The growing world demand has resulted in genre of silk and pashmina mix which has become extremely popular. Note: In the weaves, you will not find more than a few pieces of the same pattern and almost always with different color tones. Availability of embroidered patterns will almost always be singular. Most craftsmen, who are essentially artists, do not like recreating.
